Overview & History

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead

The success of the Boston Initiative to Advance Human Rights (BITAHR) is a direct result of the passion and unwavering dedication of our volunteers, Interns, Staff, Board and collaborating partner organizations.

Founded in 2008 by Alicia Foley, BITAHR has grown in response into a robust organization comprised of thoughtful, intelligent, compassionate individuals committed to combating the commercial exploitation of people and helping women and children to attain protection and fulfillment of their human rights.
